• DESCRIPTION

The oversized cardigan is an easy project, with advanced beginners to intermediate knitters in mind.

Using knit and purl stitches, you will create a cardigan that has a textured stitch pattern - the seersucker stitch.

The cardigan is knit flat in 5 pieces and then seamed.

This cardigan will be super cozy to wear in the fall.

Yarn

(Bulky/Chunky/12 Ply)

Lion Brand Hue and Me - Magic Hour (125g/4.4oz/137 yds/125m) 80% acrylic/ 20% Wool.

For the following sizes you will need approx:

  • Small – 8
  • Medium – 8
  • Large – 9
  • 1X/2X – 10

Needles

  • 6 mm (US 10) knitting needles - circular with a 40"/100cm cable.
  • 6.5mm (US 10.5) knitting needles - circular with a 40"/100cm cable.

Circular needles are advised because of the large number of stitches - this is worked back and forth - as you would knit with straight needles

• SKILLS

Level – Advanced Beginner

This is an advanced beginner-level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are following the 8-row seersucker stitch pattern, plus shaping through increases and decreases.

You will work from an 8-row pattern repeat throughout and at the same time work through all of the increases and decreases to shape.
