Seed Stitch Hat Knitting Pattern

• DESCRIPTION

The hat is knit in the round with an interesting seed stitch textured design.
Great for keeping you warm on those cold winter days!

Yarn

• 1 skein of Kartopu melange Wool - in Light grey (Yarn A) - MK928
• Scraps (around20/30g) of a coordinating color for the top of the hat - Kartopu Melange Wool - in mustard (Yarn B) - K3063

Substitute yarn suggestion - Cascade 220

Medium weight yarn (04)/Aran/Worsted/10 Ply.

Needles

• 4mm (US 6) 16" circular knitting needles
• 5.5mm (US 9) 16″ circulars.

Please note - you may have to change your needles for the decreases of the hat if working on the circulars becomes too tight.

This would mean using a set of size 5.5mm double-pointed needles (DPNs).

If you do not have those, you could use a 60cm/24" cable and use the magic loop technique.

This is an easy level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are the knit stitch, purl stitch, decreasing, and working in the round.

Finished measurements – laying flat and unstretched = 14 inches circumference / 8.5 inches long w/out the pom-pom.
