• DESCRIPTION

The hat is easy to make, with advanced beginner knitters in mind.

Using knit and purl stitches, you will create ribbing, knit in the round, and decrease and shape.

This hat will be super cozy to wear in the cold weather.

Yarn

Any medium (04) yarn/aran/worsted/10 ply. 100g

I used 1 skein of Alize Lanagold Classic in 521.

A good yarn substitute - Cascade 220 Superwash Aran.

Needles

5.5mm (US 9) 16" circular knitting needles

Please note – you may have to change your needles for the decreases of the hat if working on the circulars becomes too tight.

This would mean using a set of size 5.5 mm double-pointed needles (DPNs).

If you do not have those, you could use a 60cm/24″ cable and use the magic loop technique.

• SKILLS

Level – Easy

This is an easy level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are the knit stitch, purl stitch, increasing, decreasing, and working in the round.

I have now knitted an adult and ten children's size beanies. Great pattern to follow. Nice easy project to use as a quick knit and small quantities of yarn, so good scrap buster.

Size of needle was to big so I reduced the size because I can be a loose knitter 🤓
